Industrial Engineering"Have a mind that is open to everything and attached to nothing ..." Dr. Wayne Dyer
What is Industrial Engineering? This branch of engineering addresses the efficiencies and flow of the systems of an organization. Systems comprised of people, materials, inventory, paperwork, processes and the basic infrastructure of the organization as a whole. The infrastructure of any organization is essential, but if it is ineffective, inefficient and outdated then the entire organization suffers. This translates to increased costs, waste in every aspect of the business (time, motion, inventory, materials, space, etc.), frustration at the staff and management levels, a break down of teamwork and an organization that is no longer healthy and competitive in the global economy. When you recruit the expertise of an industrial engineer you are bringing in a fresh set of eyes and ears. Someone who will observe operational issues that are no longer given attention within your organization, but are critical to the longevity of your business. Data will be collected and analyzed, flow and processes will be examined in detail (flow charting, value stream mapping and other visual displays for ease of understanding and analyzing), delays and waste will be identified, layout will be make more efficient and teams will be empowered and incorporated into every aspect of the change and new operation. Why Hire an Industrial Engineer: Decrease cost in your organization Decrease waste in your organization Update your processes and design new ones if need be Improve/streamline the overall operational flow Ignite passion for change Make your business more "lean" Increase productivity Incorporate continuous improvement into the everyday operations of your organization Ignite and build teams to be "high performance" teams Industrial Engineers are the individuals who drive "Lean and Six Sigma" in any organization...they have the expertise, the skill set, the education and the knowledge ... and much more
